Sînziana Mircea could master different music styles and works from diverse cultures, and fascinated her public over and over again. […]  Whether dramatic, nostalgic or romantic, her playing became a game of emotions.

ABOUT

Sînziana Mircea is one of the most active young Romanian pianists, with an international career spanning over three continents: Europe, North America and Asia. Along the years, Mircea performed on prestigious stages such as Tokyo Metropolitan Theater and St Martin-in-the-Fields London. Her debut recital at the Carnegie Hall in New York took place when she was 24, in a sold-out concert rewarded with standing ovations at the end.

Sînziana started her career very early. Aged only 7, she gave her first public performance on the main stage of her country, the Bucharest Philharmonic. Soon after, she played in major cities of Romania, Europe and USA, where she made her debut at the age of 11. Her first American tour took place three years later, followed by tours in Japan and China. Mircea was invited to perform in prestigious festivals such as George Enescu Festival, Palermo Classica and MusicaRiva Festival, as the soloist of the Washington DC Youth Orchestra. Sînziana is the first Romanian pianist to have become a Young Steinway Artist (2017) and to have received a scholarship from the Van Cliburn Foundation and TCU School of Music at the PianoTexas Festival & Academy (2014).

The 2018/2019 season included her debut as a soloist of the Radio Chamber Orchestra at the Radio Hall in Bucharest in a sold-out concert, as well as an extensive tour in Japan. Mircea won the 1st Prize at the "Golden Classical Music Awards" International Competition 2019, which brings her back on the prestigious stage at Carnegie Hall in November 2019. In the same year, she was awarded the 1st Prize "Salzburg” & “Amsterdam” at the Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition.

Sînziana has released two CDs: “Nihil Sine Deo” at Editura Casa Radio, and "Unending Love” at Sheva Collection, distributed worldwide by NAXOS. Recordings of her concerts have been broadcast by BBC Radio 3, RAI 3 Italy, Music3 Belgium, Radio Romania Musical and other major radio channels for classical music.

Mircea crafted her art under the guidance of renowned pianists such as Aldo Ciccolini, Ronan O'Hora, Pascal Roge, Boris Petrushansky, Verona Maier. Sînziana obtained her Bachelor Degree with maximum qualifications at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Koln (Germany) and her Master Degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama London (UK), with a generous scholarship offered by Steinway & Sons UK. Complementary to her university studies, Sînziana attended the courses of the Accademia Pianistica Imola for two years (Italy).

Apart from her passion for performing, she also developed a strong interest for art management, which led her to the Bocconi University of Economics in Milan, from where she obtained her Master Degree in Arts Management and Administration in 2018.

In the same year, she founded MuseArt Academy, a start-up music school in Bucharest.
